It feels a little strange moving onto WordPress since I’ve been housed at Xanga for more than (5) years. Can you believe it? I wasn’t really much of a blogger because I no longer felt the need to post anything about my life because people just do not care. It’s true, period. I had my ups and downs on xanga, like meeting new people and dating them, but that time is over. Crazzyy. Anyways, I’m trying to start a fresh new life here and will primarily focus on the topic of food. Let me tell you, food heals all wounds despite all the bs that you’ve been hearing time and time again. See it’s the excessiveness that will kill you, but not moderation. This is what fine dining is all about. I’d like you to welcome me into this neighborhood and I hope you’ll be good to me.

To start off, if you think Dallas BBQ on 42nd St and around the city is good, better think again.

Before you come here, I’d strongly recommend you to make reservation through opentable.com or call. It is busy almost every single day of the night, especially friday nights and the weekends.
Last friday, me and my trusted assistant went out to scour this place to check to see what’s the hype is all about. Blue Smoke was featured on New York magazine as one of the top bbq joints in the ‘hood. My assistant who’s a FANATIC of bbq food was excited as a little boy on christmas day and just couldn’t wait to go. Our reservation was at 8:30, but we arrived early to let them know that we was there. Holy crap it was packed inside and out. So we waited outside to pass the time.
They have an array of their homemade bbq sauces!
I thought this was pretty good even though I’m not a fan of bbq food. It was pretty nifty, although I think most bbq restaurants have their own special sauce.
The atmosphere seems to be very cool here, and I’m talking Jazz cool, since there’s a Jazz club downstairs. I didn’t feel their music because I think it was too early for a band to play, but the restaurant itself played nice jazz music. But you probably won’t notice because of the noise level in there. Like any bbq joint, it’s not a romantic place to go to. Great to go with friends.
So as I walk in, I noticed that there were more predominately more white people and asians than black people. You know when you’ve been to Dallas BBQ and all the bbq joints in time square. Maybe it’s just the neighborhood, but that can be changed!
They have very nice coushy seats for you if you’d prefer that and your typically cherrywood chair. I had the coushy seat since the waitress told me to sit and my assistant was grounded on sitting on his chair. Pfft. I’m a short gal. 5’2″, probably shorter, and I swear, the table was higher than my seat! It’s dam coushy and comfy, but only when you lean back. Eating is another thing.
Started off with soft drinks and water, since I was dehydrated from walking around the neighborhood in heels. My waitress, who’s one heck of a gal, got me my drink quickly and efficiently! She reassured me that she wasn’t rushing us cause everytime she came back, I thought she wanted to know what we want. She was just being a good waitress. Though I forgot her name.
Anyways, me and mr. assistant ordered the ravioli, which I don’t see on the website but it’s on menupages.
Toasted Ravioli “st. Louis Style” with Smoked Tomato Sauce
Price: $10.50
Holy crap it wasn’t your ordinary ravioli, it’s fried and freakin’ huge! Look!
Man cause people in St. Louis cook!! The white stuff is cheese obviously, and it has a satisfying fried saltiness that I love so much. There was actually meat inside, little chunks of meat, but I didn’t take a picture of that because I was busy stuffing my mouth.
Great service. Did I say that? After we were done, the waiters and waitresses came to give us new plates and utensils and asked if we wanted refills. It’s for free I believe. Now that’s what I’m talking about, good service.

My lovely assistant had this delicious dish. I had a little bit of each, and let me say, if you’re a bbq fan, you’ll be in heaven. I’m not a fan, but it tasted really good! Each rib was cooked differently. The ribs on the far right is cooked as tenderly as the chinese version, but with bbq sauce. The rest was really salty for me, duh, hence bbq, but it was really good.
Fried Chicken with Buttermilk Biscuit, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Price: $18.95
I am a fried chicken fanatic. I’ve tried them all, but this taste a little different from the rest. I don’t even need to tell you how good it tastes, just look at it! And oh yeah, I’m usually no fan of mash potato cause it usually taste like fucken crap cause it’s all smooth and sheit, but this taste like a fucken mash potato. Not that watered down crap. Very very good. Although I wished there was a separate bowl for the potato cause when I was cutting my chicken, yeah I don’t like to get my hands messy, my chicken was covered in potatoey-goodness. Not cool. But overall, it’s delicious, but I’ve had better at the House of Blues.
Alright to top of the night, we decided to share a dessert. I couldn’t think because I was so so stuffed that I didn’t even finish it and wrapped it up for the night.
Banana Cream Pie Ripe bananas with vanilla custard in a walnut-vanilla wafer crust
Price: $7.25
I have never had a banana pie before, but I have a very good impression of it, at least for this one. The walnut-vanilla wafer is a great combo with the fresh bananas. It is definitely creamy rich, and very very sweet. I’d recommend this.
To sum up this experience:
Reservations: Yes
Atmosphere: Great for groups, not romantic but ok for dates, and crowd of 21+ yrs old.
Bar:Yes
Price: Moderate
Food: Best bbq I have ever had in the city! 4 out of 5 stars
Recommend? Hell yes.

It sounds like you had a great experience your first time around, but things sucked for this round. It gets kind of confusing for readers who can’t differentiate the pictures from this time and last. You really have to ditch your conservative friends and start ordering exotic dishes. They’re much more fun and very delicious. Remember, when you go out, MONEY IS NO OBJECT! The only beef I’ve really got with Amazing 66 is that they don’t have dessert at all to match up with their superb food, but then, that’s a great reason to walk up to NoLiTa for Room 4 Dessert.

I can’t believe you went for lunch. Who goes out for a birthday lunch? Anyway, you’re right, Almond is empty. It’s empty when I was there for dinner. It’s empty whenever I would pass by it. And it stayed empty this time that you were here, even though they have opened for such a long while already.
Pity. Give it 3 or so months, and the place will be ready to fold. Pitiful not because the food is good, or that the space is sexy, but it was different. Probably not in the good way though. It’s just so out of place. Chinatown is not ready for this. Go a bit North, and it’d attract the NoLiTa crowd. Slant a bit to the East and it’ll be in hipster haven with the LES-ites.
I’m writing your review a critic, but would never allocate the same amount of time or effort to do a review of my own. Oh well. You’re well worth my time, and I’m always the first to comment. I need my #1 fan award and plaque, please.
To sum it all up, you should hit Butter (http://butterrestaurant.com/) next time. More pricy, but hey, this place attracts Paris and Lindsay. Of course, no celeb or socialite can match the presence of “mr. softrice”! The best veal, and sexier calamari on the eyes. I heard, from better sources, that their salad was off the hook too. You’ll totally devour the veal. It’s that good.
Now to go on about your pictures. What the heck is that on the back of the counter and on top of the grill? Is that meat? Salad ingredients aren’t all that fresh from their color tones. Why didn’t you try the calamari? I’m the #1 calamari fan. Sigh. Now you make me want to return to this place just to try out how good their calamari is. Chinese pan fried noodles with meat balls. Not exactly my combination choice. Salmon and steak are the easiest to make anywhere, they’re always bland, and it takes superb places to really take something so simple and make them shine out. The steak at Loft (http://loftnyc.net/) with a red wine sauce is so good! And you’re right again, clam SHELLS should never be mixed in with noodles, even though I assume they’re trying to prove that they’re fresh.
No one tried dessert or their drinks? Neither did I and my date on my visit, but I was hoping your party would have. Then I’d have known if I missed or lucked out. Okay, so this is done. What’s next for you to review? Shall it be Rice, or Peking Duck House? Haha.

i have no idea who all these people you’re interviewing with. but good luck and be your perky self. everyone likes that.
what i do:
basically when a broker purchases a LA product, if the broker is new and not in our system, i input their info into that system and update their current location and/or mailing address for future mailings of junk mail courtesy of LA. so that the next time they book a trade, it will automatically process.
another thing is when a broker changes firms, from like UBS to Smith Barney, the trades don’t match, so I have to update all that jazz so the next time a trade is placed, it will process automatically.
most of the time we get our info from DST and NASD. and if there’s a discrepancy, we call to verify which is correct. but most of the time, i dont call. i dont see the point really. i bet most of these people don’t want our junk mail.

yes i had lunch because i intended to work out after work,but since i didn’t get my water until after lunch, i’m not workig out. i had leftover lasgna from monday and leftover potatoes (as a side) from tuesday.
mr. softrice is like yu! you spend unnecessary $$ on food. he told me not to eat leftovers and to buy new ones. yeah right! i save about $10-20 by not eating lunch. that $$ will be used for bars and gas for my car.

$36 per person ain’t bad. But you can do way better at Minado. Have you ever tried that place? It’s called Todai now, but the food is still the same, though the quality and atmosphere, I must say, have dropped. Is the chef an illegal immigrant? He might be, but I’m sure IRS people won’t look through online blogs and match through faces of who’s on and not on file. Maybe this is just me, but why is red bean ice cream purple? For $36, you might as well add another $14 on and get good food and entertainment at NINJA!!! Seriously, when will you listen? Did Wing enjoy his birthday though? hey beeee-otch! are you ready for your interview tomorrow? i know you’ll do well. and i’m sooooo excited for our little lunch gathering. haven’t eaten upstairs since i first started with Liz. we ate up there for the first week, then we moved downstairs to the kitchen on our floor. then we moved to our desks because we both thought we werne’t allowed to eat at our cubicle and surf the web.

HAHA, when you complain, you sound like me about every little detail about why i don’t like a certain food. wow, i would never pay $36/person for food. that’s ridiculous. if my parents saw/read/heard about this, they’d take all your money from you and invest it, or at least put it in the bank. but i when i spend money on stuff, it’s not necessarily “junk” like stuffed animals, dolls, cheap furniture, or foods regarless of it’s quality and type of restaurant it is. yet my parents dont approve so my dad charges me with “bills” like paying for my portion of the cell phone bill, car insurance (my 2 brothers don’t pay for theirs, but my dad hates me and likes to pick on me), etc. yet my older brother spends most of his money on junk, like useless shit that just sits around in the house. but my dad picks on me because i have friends and i go out often with them. my dad can’t pick on my little brother because he only comes home to shower and sleep. but my older brother is usually home all day, if not at work. basically, my dad can’t take the fun out of my older brother but he can take the fun out of me. that no-good bastard.
how unfair. my mom makes lunch for my brothers but when i ask my mom to make me lunch or buy me a certain cereal or whatever, my dad calls me spoiled. i dont get it.
i never done this shin-dig before, nor would i want to spend the $$ to do so.
my dad IS sexist. my mom just automatically makes food for my brothers because she knows that they “dont know how” probably because they are boys. but i dont know. maybe my dad is jealous that my mom doesn’t ever punish me directly. if she’s mad, she’ll tell my dad to yell at me, but that’s not often that my mom gets mad at me. but i’ll tell you the reason, if i haven’t another time. it’s too tragic to reveal to everyone.

I forgot what else i wanted to say because a recruiter just contacted me. he’s a cool guy. i originally didn’t contact him for help again because he was the one who told me that if Marketing isn’t want, than LA is a big mistake. and of course he did tell me so. but he was cool about it. but he isn’t sure whether or not he can help me out because LA is a big client of his recruiting firm and that might make them look bad. but who knows.
haven’t heard any more opportunities for interviews just yet. you kow waht… after i gave you my job description, i was able to wing what to say to recruiters about my job function. originally when they asked me, i said mostly data entry (which of course was a big mistake). but thanks to Yu YU YU, i said something better.

i’m not a fan of Amir’s “best” friend. he’s such a jerk and i’m thinking that amir tells him an elaborated story of me. who knows. everytime that guy calls, amir makes me talk to him over the phone. and i seems to always get giggly when i drink.
but i had a fun time. i went all the way up to Mad River, 81/3ave to meet with clay and john because none of us got the memo that the place has been changed. the bartender guy was super nice and gave us drinks on the house. then phil calls and tells me the new place. then we took a cab ride down to 49/2ave to The Press Box. The place kind of sucked, and there was a problem with the bar tab and they had an agrument with the bartender. then the boys paid up anyway without a tip. then the bartender says “hey, you need to pay a tip.” so the boys gave him a $5 for $50+ worth of drinks and food, not sure how much the tab was… then we went to Sutton Place, 51/2ave and left the place around 11p, had pizza next door, i ate phil’s pizza, and was sitting across from him. and then he didn’t look away, and sneezed in my direction. then i didn’t finish his pizza and of course he ate it. got home around 1am and my parents were asleep.
i must’ve missed somethimg because when i woke up saturday afternoon, my parents are mad at each other again. they’re still mad at each other. but you know, after a few more days… or weeks, they’ll be making up in bed. when? i have no idea.

Then i took that money and spent it on a Lacoste fleece jacket instead for $151. then i looked in the shoes dept and found another pair of Seychelles that i really like. they are these little oranges that are easy to peel, like the size of a golf ball, maybe bigger and they are sweeter. the spanish ones that comes in a little wooden crate for like $4.99 when it’s not on sale are the ones i eat. the chinese ones have the stem and leaf, but those you just place everywhere in the house and my mom tells me i can’t eat them.

the last 2 times i called out sick when i wasn’t, well here’s the conversation:

my friends tell me i should just call in early when she doesn’t pick up. except sometimes sharon doesn’t come into work, so if i leave a voice mail and leeann doesn’t get it she might fire me or something.
no, i’m not into sports at all. but since i went to OSU and we are this big crazy football school, and our team usually does really well, etc. and our games are always televised nationally… but my friends from ohio are really bummed out.
where do you work? i dont want to drag you from midtown all the way downtown and back up again.
and am i allowed to sit by myself in a class room without looking suspicious? can’t i just sit in the lobby or something?

yes, ohio is a swing state. and i dont think the people there are rich. depending on where you live, some of the kids grew up on a farm, like Phil, except he’s from Maine and eats deer meat. he picks them up from the street aka roadkill meat.
but it’s definitely a lot cheaper to live out there. my rent was only $450/month for a studio because i only got a 6month rent. if i got a 1 year lease, it would only be $375. the most expensive single/studio apartment is lik $500-600. but if you get a double or more, it’s only like $250 per person per month. so it’s cheap for a nice apartment.

yeah there isn’t much to do in Ohio. but they do pay tax on clothes, like 6.35%. and there are a lot of wild bars around the campus area and yes, drugs. my bf smokes a lot of pot. he even does it at work. and his supplier grows it in his basement.

you know what kind of people i can’t stand… people who swing their arms so far back and forth when they walk/run. if they were a runner, that is really bad form because #1 it wastes more energy and #2 it’s bad because your body isn’t aligned with your feet (it’s twisting = back strain).
people, especially chubby ladies trying to walk up the escalator, and run out of gas before they can reach the top and start slowing down, keep hitting me in the face with their big swinging arms.

I LOVE HOTPOCKETS! we have them in my freezer… a lot of them. i only like the sub and the pizza ones. never tired the pot pies or “breakfast” kind. mmm, almost lunch time and i’m drooling for hotpockets. maybe i’ll bring it to lunch tomorrow. thanks for the great idea.
p.s. did you know that we have 2 freezers. well we have a frig in the kitchen – the frig is on the bottom and the freezer is on the top, you normal conventional freezer. and then in the basement, we have another freezer, a lot bigger, filled with King Crab legs and Frozen dinners because that’s what my little brother eats for lunch during the week when my mom doesn’t have time to cook for him.

last time i had an argument with my dad and i said to him “damn it” and he got sooooooo pissed. my dad is soooo irrational. it was about the first week here at LA that the legal dept wanted a copy of all my securities holdings. and i told my dad i need those account numbers because fucking danny fiore from legal keeps asking for them. and my dad didn’t want to give them up because it’s not my money. my dad just put some of the accounts under my name, even though it’s for my grandmother, so it’s a joint account. and we were arguing about it.
my dad is soooooo irrational. i always try to avoid him as much as possible. such a prick. he needs a hobby SOON!
ever since he got really old 50+, he and my mom have been fighting a lot because he’s so arrogant and irrational. (dad is going to be 57 in May). good thing they dont argue in front of us most of the time… and it’s always my dad’s fault. sometimes my mom asks dumb questions (but not as dumb as Moushumi’s questions) and my dad gets really mad. when my mom tries to use technical terms abuot stuff like computers and cars or whatever and she uses the terms in the wrong way, my dad gets mad and corrects her about it, and thats how the drama unfolds. my dad would just keep raising his voice and repeat his words until my mom just stops talking to him all together.
like this one time during dinner my mom was talking to my dad about her friend and what she told her about cars or whatever, and my mom specifically quoted her friend word-for-word, and my dad raised his voice and told her she (my mom) is wrong even though my mom kept telling him her friend said it, not her.
it’s like when my dad tries to explain something to me, physics hw or something that i didn’t understand. he’ll explain it again, repeating everything he just said. he doens’t know how to explain stuff in a different way.
thats why i try hard to find a guy who is not arrogant and i hang out with people who are not full of themselves. see i’m learning from my parents’ mistakes!

well to sum things up…
Even though the Merrill building is downtown, JPMorgan will soon be downtown once the new tower is built at the wtc site. that dept is just temporarily in brooklyn.
i’m not too worried about the new tower because it’s supposed to be “terror proof” with sturdier stairs (imagine being on the 100th floor and being pushed and shoved down those stairs), and steel beams and no asbestos ceilings (they dont make that shit anymore).

i got them in 6 1/2 since the other ones i have were too small and were hurting my feet at Katwalk. remember those… you picked out that light brown/mustard color. anyway, their 6′s are too small and their 6 1/2 are too big. i need to like stuff the toe with cotton balls or something to make the 6 1/2 shoe fit. i don’t think i can return them because i wore them outside in the train parking lot. i was going to wear them for work. but as i got out of the car, and walked up the station platform, they kept falling off my feet. there’s no way i can walk in shoes that keep falling off. if i try to step into the train from the platform, they might fall off my foot and into the crack and then land in the tracks…
so i went back to the car to get my gym sneakers and then walked back the the train platform, and almost missed my train. nonetheless, i caught the train and made it to work on time – 8:15, even though i still start at 8:30. either i’m 15 mins early or 5-10 mins late. i dont want to risk it.
yeah my dad needs a life. he’s not very social outside of work. actually he’s not really that social. well he’s like me, but with a bad temper. my little bro is like my uncle in CA, who is very social. and my older brother is like my other uncle in NYC who is very anti-social to the extreme.
i’m like my mom when i get mad… i ignore and give people the “silent treatment.” and like my mom, when i try to argue with my dad, he’ll pound it in my head that he’s right and i’m wrong – not physically of course. physically if he pounded on my head, i’d be a retart now. so when it comes to fights and arguments, i just give in and keep that anger built up inside of me. there’s no point in debating with my dad because he always takes his own side. even with evidence and proof, he’s still right, when it clearly states that he’s wrong.
like my loan consolidatio after graduation. he made me call the loan office to set it to a fixed rate. and the loan officer specifically told me that on the next statement it will still say “variable” but at the end of the vesting period or whatever, it will be adjusted to fixed in the next statement. and a few months later (when i’m still in vesting), i get the last variable statement and my dad yells at me for not changing it to fixed. then when the vesting is over, i get the fixed bill. he never apologized or acknowledged that he was wrong.
my dad needs to get neutered. that should solve the trick.
Alisha is here at work. i think she’s doing work since she’s not on the phone. this morning, she claims that i pushed her getting off the PATH train at Exchange Place. she thought it was funny though. today the PATH was unusualy crowded. and this guy looked like he was getting off the same time i was, but didn’t and jsut stayed in the middle of the exit and i couldn’t get out… so i could’ve pushed Alisha by accident. she recognized my big Coach bag and assumes its me. she didnt get a look at the face, whether or not it’s mine.
didn’t have to scrape ice off my window because my car is in the garage. maybe when i get home tonight, i have to scrape b/c it’s in the train station’s parking lot.
haven’t printed out the map to get to JPMorgan, but i’ll do that tonight. it cant’ be that hard… dont scare me. i’m gonna get there like 1hr be4 the interview anyway, so it’s plenty of time to walk in circles finding the place.
I dont like where death note is going. the storyline is beginning to suck now that Raito doens’t have the powers anymore…

CLEMENTINES YOU IDIOT! kidding. and 8 chips ahoy chocolate chip cookies – the originals. and like 5 ritz crackers. i was gonna have cereal but they did’nt have anymore skim milk. i think they shouldnt’ order so much half and half because there’s like 8 cartons of those in the frig and nothing else.

so last night i couldn’t put on my contacts be4 going to sleep, so i’m seeing a little bit of blurriness. i can still see my computer without leaning foward = i can still slouch on my chair. but looking like 20 feet away it gets blurry.
i must’ve not cleaned out my lens case well or soap must’ve gotten in it or something. but when i put my contacts in, my eyes were burning like crazy. so after i had to take it out, and i flushed my eyes with water which made it feel better, but my eyes were all red. so i’ve decided not to wear the lens. oh well, at least my eyesight is not that bad, maybe like 20/30 or 20/40 at worse. good thing i have a spare pair of weak contact lenses.

the meeting was interesting today. it was about Market timing and how it’s frowned upon, yet not illegal but you cant’ do it at LA. and you need permission to redeem a fund and purchase another one. and if you violate the code of ethics, you have to explain yourself to the board and partners. like in college if you get caught plagurizing or something… i’ve never plagurized. i just quote everything. when i write papers, it’s all quoted and i dont put much of my own stuff in there and i always do so well with writing papers, though i dont like to do them.

no freshman year, i had a russian-american roommate. she was born in russia but raised in ohio, so she’s pretty much like ABC, except she’s russian. but we had a community bathroom, where 30 girls all use the same bathroom. 5 showers and 5 bathrooms and 5 sinks.
senior year i had the chinese roommate. soph year i had an american. junior i had a single.
so Ricecakes is 22years old and is doing grad school? really? did he not do undergrad? or is he one of those dorks who graduated high school when he was 14 years old. i think chelsea clinton graduated high school when she was 16.
no way! some parts of the NYT is for paid customers only. kaplan only gives me the WSJ paper to read, i can’t go online. i read them on the train.

wow, Ricecakes is such a nerd…but then again, i could’ve finished college in 3 years too, except i decided to stay 1 extra year to graduate with my friends. i originally decided on business freshman year and took those classes, then halfway through soph year, when i was 1/3 done with business i wanted to do physics/optometry, then dropped it beginning of junior year and finished up business and electives. then senior year, i jsut took electives to try to bring up my GPA. worst move ever.

if i wasn’t working, i wouldve probably gotten my mba by now. but $ was more important to me because i wanted to and still want to move out so bad. my dad, man, he needs to be neutered.

and we get our diploma in this nice black leather portfolio with our school logo engraved in it, all free. and a plaque of us receiving our diploma from the dean, free. the portfolio thing is really nice, they’re like $50+. But then again, it’s OSU. our football team generates us the most revenue. we have ticket scalpers selling our football tickets for at least $500. yes, we are that great, although we lost the national title this year.

i’m not having very good luck with these Seychelles shoes. the 1st pair i got, 6 was too small. the 2nd pair, 6.5 is too big. and now i got these size 6 flats and they are a bit too big and they scratch the back of my foot on the left foot and scratch my pinkie toe on the right. good thing i wore these inside of work where it’s all carpeted so i can return them. phew! i have yet to find a nice pair of flats.

i didn’t look in the mirror before i left the house today, so i’m wearing crap. i have a Polo button-down shirt that cost $129 and an Express shirt (not sweater) on top of it. so you can see all the crinkles and wrinkles and the button creases on the Express shirt. it’s hard to describe… just imagine “nipplage/nipple-age”. like when your cold and you don’t wear a padded bra… but no, my nips aren’t showing. just all the creases in the back and front of my shirt along with the buttons. but then again, it’s only work. not trying to impress anyone. plus i’m wearing my $155 fleece Lacoste jacket b/c it’s cold. i dont really like it, the sleeve cuffs aren’t stretchy, so it’s kind of annoying.

what i’m wearing is so uncomforable today. no only is my shirt tucked in, have a tummy ache, but this bra i’m wearing (Wonderbra), the straps kept falling down the last time i wore it, so this time i shortened the strap. so now the strap is way too high on my back, and i clipped it on the last hook, usually i clip it on the first hook, so this little tag that has the “wonderbra” label is bothering me. i cant’ wait til i go home and shower.
i’m acutally not a fan of Wonderbra bras. actually i’m disappointed. plus these demi-cups get all wrinkled after the first wash, that if i wear a tight fitting shirt, you can see the wrinkles from the bra. i have yet to find my favorite bra at at reasonable price. my AE ones should be arriving at my doorstep any day. hopefully they’re wonderful.

p.s. i already knew that Chipotle is mostly owned by McDonalds, and to this day i still have a hard time believing it. ohhh, forget about what i told sticky-rice about what i wanted to eat for lunch. i want a Chipotle burrito more! oh, they’re soooo good. and what do i have, clementines and Ritz crackers (originals) except the package that i have barely has any salt on them, so they aren’t that great… but then again, i shouldn’t buy food from CVS. i got a “defective” box. my Ritz box came with 3 packages of stacked Ritz crackers, 2 of the packages had barely any salt and 1 package had too much salt. i’m on package #3, the one with no salt. if you buy it from a normal grocery store, i’d get salt that is evenly distributed on each kracker in each package.

Read amNY page 4… i told you i saw a dead guy on the tracks yesterday. it’s been confirmed. the train ahead of mine hit a man who was trespassing on the tracks in Rahway, NJ (ghetto), and the train hit the guy at 10:30am… i should’ve taken a pic of it when the train was moving past the body… but the guy wasn’t roadkilled like how animals get when they get squashed under the wheels, he was still whole and i didn’t see any blood stains on the white cover that was covering the body, so the train must’ve tried to stop when it saw him, and just probably hit him at 10mph which is equivilent to falling off a 20-story building (wow, physics is so useful).

i think Darius’s pooch passed away, so that’s why he’s not here today? i’d be soooo incredibly bummed out if Keeper left me.
i was petting him yesterday before leaving the house, and my mom put my black blazer on my chair, and when i went to pick it up to put it in the closet, i noticed there was some white/powdery mark on it, so i went to rub it with my hands, and that just put more powdery marks on it, and i realized that it was my dogs dandruff. every time i wear black (except for my wool coat), and i touch my dog and then place my hands in my lap or wherever, all that white stuff is from my dog!
and i usually pet the guy before dinner time, and if dinner requires me to use my hands (and i dont wash my hands before dinner), i pretty much eat my dog’s dandruff, along with some of his hair that floats in the air and lands in the food.

the wierdest thing:
coming out of the PATH station, this asian dude was handing out menus. the chinese stuff looks like stuff i would eat (though i can’t order by myself b/c there’s probably a minimum order). and then in side the menu was anothe menu for Tacos. and i thought maybe that menu is in there by mistake… well i looked at the address and phone and they are the same. who would’ve thought Asians and Mexicans would feast in the same place (i’m not being a racist), but it’s just odd. so which is it… does the chinese food have a mexican flare or vice versa?

that’s the restaurant we went to. with 6 people, the bill came out to almost $300. good thing i didn’t pay =)
i’ve decided that i dont like my haircut, but out of all the haircuts i’ve gotten this one was the best of the worst. it wasn’t drastically bad, but he took a lot of the “weight” off my hair, so now it looks like i have a huge head with a not-so-full head of hair. i need this to grow out fast… i’ve tried to research what would make hair grow faster and there are none.
i’m done with work and getting nervous as the time approaches 3. my whole body is freezing and my hands are iced cold.

yesterday on the train it was sort of full, so i had to sit next to this lady wearing a full fur coat. i wonder what animal it was… grizzly? what big animal has dark brown fur besides the bear? hmm, could be a coujar or jaguar… i didn’t touch it. so gross.
this morning i was debating whether i should sit next to someone in a 2-seater or sit in a 3-seater. when the train gets full, usually on the 3-seaters, only 2 people sit on them, but when they see me in a 3-seater with another person in it, they’d ask to sit in the 3rd spot… it sucks to be small sometimes because the fattest person wants to sit on your lap on the 3-seater (not literally but you know what i mean).
so back to this morning’s train, i decided to take my chances on the 3-seater because i didn’t want to sit next to another lady with a big fur coat in the 2-seater.
i’m so nervous, and i think i had a poisonous lunch, i’m feeling a stomach ache coming… i had carrots, but for some reason they were slimey. i checked the date and it’s not expired yet. i don’t know where the slime is coming from. i should probably eat a tums and pop a few pills before i go to the interview. i’d hate to fart infront of important people…
this better be the one and only interview, because it’s hard to think up excuses…

Vegetarian Dim Sum House on Pell is my fave. Bodai on Mott is creative and preferred by Jews, but it’s also pretty pricy. Wild Ginger in Nolita is pretty cool, good food too. Spring Street Natural by Sui Water Lounge is half meat, half vegetarian, and I haven’t been to try yet, but we should go sometime. Vegetarian Paradise in Chinatown closed a long time ago. VP2 is in West Village, and I still have to try the ultra delicious Red Bamboo in WV too! East Village has Counter and Pukk. Upper East Side has Candle 79 and Gobo, both worth trying out! Though you didn’t like Gobo. Do a review for your coworker. I need something to read toO!

Why the heck are you checking out Vegetarian Dim Sum House as your first vegetarian stop? I’ve been there so many times! Very delicious dim sum and vegetarian dishes, especially my fave vegetarian duck, three shredded meats with pan fried noodles, and szechuan chicken! So good! They get a B!! But I’ve been there! Go some place else. I want to try Red Bamboo in the West Village, HanGawi, a Korean vegetarian place on 34th, Pukk, a Thai vegetarian place on East Village, and many others. We can even hit up Spring Street Natural! Go somewhere else!!! Oh, there’s Zen Palate too, but I didn’t like them, and they get a C-.

It’s a really outstanding dessert that is just so different from the rest of the menu. Amanda knew I’d want that and made fun of me for her knowing when we were planning. i’m actually taking a vacation day for my actual GMATs because i have a dermotologist appointment before then… hopefully i wont be stressed out on that day. i got dr’s appointment at 2pm and then gmats at 5:30. i found out that i can start the est before 5:30 so that i can leave early and get a good/comfortable chair. the chair i had was broken with no arm rests and i sat at booth #13, but they called it 12b instead… and there are only 15 booths at the testing center…

i think i told you this, but when Moushumi became perm, she asked Leeann about moving to a different department and she said no because she hasnt dedicated at least a year in her current position yet, or something like that… or maybe i heard wrong.
so i’m scared to ask Leeann if i can move into a different department… but that’s my last resort. if i use up all my personal and vacation days (2 and 10 respectively), than i’m going to try to move into a different department and hopefully she won’t discourage me in any way…

i’m feeling sick today. i dont kow if it’s because i ate so much yesterday. yesterday i ate a lot of bacon. then my mom gave me a lot of lasgna for lunch (which wasn’t that great b/c she prepared it the night before so the noodles got WAY too soft/soggy/pastey), then for snack, i had a big piece of cheesecake. then for dinner i had my usual big meal. i was so full after lunch, but i chose to eat anyways… see, when i stress over studying, i eat. good thing i dont study too often otherwise i’d be obese from all the comfort foods…
on the train i felt so naucious (can’t spell today, pronounced gnaw-sh-cious)…
and yes i like my rice and noodles soggy, but not dry/pastey. it’s got to be fresh and not made the night before…

This place looks like a local joint that profits off chocolate craves of passerbyers. Not as fancy or sexy as Jacques Torres on Hudson Square, though the one in Brooklyn is smaller than this, but with a sexier chocolate vibe. Perhaps Max Brenner still does chocolate food the best. Payard on the UES is good too. You might want to give that a try!

this recruiter called me today about a financial analyst position for the “entertainment industry” doing reporting… damn it! who uses macros anyway. i know how to make the basic ones but i dont get how they’re used. and i’ve only done pivot tables at school.
i hope i get to interview at some place cool like MTV or NBC and get freebies and cool tickets if i get the job. i think i’m thinking too positively rite now. but wow, exciting. this week i’ve gotten no calls or interview offers.
and i think since i turned down ML, that recruiter doesnt’ want to work with me anymore, even though he did get me this LA job. see, when you say no, they seem to not want to work with you anymore. so next time, i should just say yes and do horrible in the interview.
this has happened with a lot of companies when i say no. because when it looks like i’m about to get the job, they will push and persuade me to take the job – that’s how i got this job. but when you make it clear that you dont want the job, than they seem to not want to work with me anymore.
and this one recruiter made me cry – seriuosly – for backing out on a job-deal. and then bashed me and told me i got no skills a crappy ass GPA and no one else is going to take me in and i just blew my entire career opportunity. then his associate calls me to see whats up, and i told her and pretty much she just re-bashed me. ADAM PERSONNELL – dont trust them!

but it’s not my problem. the cleaning lady reuses the bag in my trash can and it stinks. i can’t remember what i could’ve possibly threw away in there that made it stink like ass. occassionally i do throw away my clementine peels in there, but that’s not supposed to smell like ass even if the skin does get all moldy.
plus i dont want to leave a note on top of my trash to tell the lady to take out the whole bag and give me a new one. she might get offended if i told her how to do her job that she’s probably been doing for years. and then if i piss her off, she probably wont take out my trash and sabotage my desk by misplacing my stuff and adjusting my monitor and chair and it would take me forever to get it in the perfect spot all over again.

All jobs have benefits that start a year or a half after you’ve been with them. $45k isn’t that bad. I thought $40k was your mark? Take it at the latest date they’ll give you, and then reject when you find something better.

hunny bunches, i think $45k is decent. and you mis-read the vacation policy. basically, you can’t start using your vacation days until, i believe, 2 full months of working there, but you can get permission if you really needed that vacation day. but after that 2 months, you can take as much vacation as you want, and you only have 10 days and 2 personal days in which you must use all 12 days before december 31 because it does not carry over. i mean, you dont have to use all 12 days before dec 31, but you’d be losing out.
and yes, 401k doens’t start until after your first full year and 1 month. so for me, if i leave before March, i dont have my 401k plan anymore and nothing gets rolled over to my new company – wishful thinking.
but since you dont have “real” experience and if you can’t bullshit well on interviews, this is a great opportunity. and after a year, just leave (like me
).
but i will definitely foward your resumes on to my good recruiters, but they can’t do much and might forget about you if i give them your resume now. so maybe in March, i’ll submit your resume and hopefully they can get you a better deal.

i’m not telling which to pick, it’s up to you, but here’s the positive side
+ you have 2 years working experience in different departments so you are well rounded
- the down side is that it’s Lord who? in where? not as prestigious as NYC. and the pay is mediocre. i know you can find something better. on average (with the exception of someone who refuses to use Hotjobs or Careerbuilders), it takes a college grad about 4-8 months to find a job right out of college if you are proactively looking. i read that in the WSJ and in Monster. and i found my job in 2 months.
and you can also look for temp-to-perm jobs. that’s how my amir, and my french friend got their 65k jobs with benefits even though they started out at only $19/hr as a temp without benefit.
no Sumo Wrestler is creepy. most of the original DB team, i’m close with, but not the new people,which include Sumo. Originally, it was me, amir, phil, john, clay (french), a dude that got fired, an ass kisser, samir (indian), oscar (mexican), and jen (you never met).
But when the team started to find jobs elswhere, they’ve been replaced and sumo is one of the replacements, so i dont know him all that well. and he thinks that he can just touch me all over like i’m his lover. that’s total violation because i barely know the guy. plus he used to call and send me texts when i had T-mobile.

i’m not sure you can get free clothes at Bloomies, only Abercrombie… At Bloomies, it’s probably like Macy’s or Nordstrom, just dress nice, slacks, no sneakers/jeans, etc. plus those department stores sells variuos brands, so that’s why you can wear whatever. but at Abercrombie, it’s only Abercrombie, so you need those clothes and i guess they give it to you.

Shanghai Cafe comes in as a close second, but that space is more retro and looks cleaner and trendier, so that might be your next stop. Go crave your vegetarian and eat there already! It’s the best food ever! Been there many times, and a loyal fan of take out. You just suck with your pictures.

That place is good, I took -her- there several times because we both loved it there, the Steamed pork buns of course are good there (but we usually get the higher quality one) The one they say they’re famous for. Your ricecakes dish seemed to be overpriced….well at least to what the quality of your pic shows….But yea too bad I would not likely go back to Kiu Ka San to eat, since you know why. But whatever…..

That’s not much of a selection going there, at least they should also have the basic green tea ice cream….

At last someone who knows that “French fries” were invented (in the 17th Century) in Belgium, not in my country, France!
I can’t sya if the Belgians are better, but we do agree on the way to prepare them:
-first deepfry before they chnage colour.
-take out
-deepfry again until the get the right colour
Actually, back home we deepfry them 30 seconds at a time for as long as necessary!
