Kyochon! Korean Fried Chicken (Northern Blvd, Bayside NY)

Kyochon, a fantastic place for Korean Fried Chicken. These fried chicken are not your ordinary KFC, far from it in fact. They are much more tastier and less greasy. Be prepared to wait though while they cook your order, it can easily take 20-30 minutes. On a busy day, you might have to wait a long time for a table. On the other hand, they do deliver! Again, be prepared to wait anywhere from 30-40+ minutes for a delivery. I prefer to order 20 min ahead of time and then pick it up myself since I’m not far from either in Bayside rather than wait for a longer delivery.
Here’s a tease… More after the jump!

Kyochon Order Counter
Besides the counter, there’s a small waiting area since waits can be lengthy. There’s a good number of tables for patrons along with large LCD tvs. Note: there’s also a sink outside the bathroom for hand washing since you will be going there for wings.

Kyochon Menu
Upon seating, you’ll be served a bit of Pickled Radish and Coleslaw with Thousand Island dressing. It will be nice to wet your appetite while you wait.

Kyochon Pickled Radish

Kyochon Coleslaw
We placed an order for the 50 wings for four of us, half spicy garlic, half sweet garlic, right away. We then ordered a Large Order of Fries and a dish of Curry with Rice for the long wait while they double fry our wings.

Kyochon Large Fries

Kyochon Curry with Rice
The Fries were crunchy and peppered, salted perfectly, crisp and very delicious. The Curry with a hint of spicyness was good but nothing too special. Definitely skip this for some of the stir fry dishes instead.
After about 20 minutes, our chicken came out, Wings and Drummettes. They serve smaller orders ranging from 10 pieces, 20 pieces, and 50 pieces. You’ll have to check their full menu on the site. There are also dishes served in the restaurant thats not on the delivery menu. Here’s what you’ve been really wanting to see.

Kyochon Fried Chicken Spicy Garlic
Both were very arromatic and mouth watering. I was barely able to take these pictures before my group dug right in. The spicy garlic is very spicy so be warned. It doesn’t hit you until you take a few bites, then it lingers and stays in your mouth, well after you’ve eaten it. Once you’ve had these delicious wings, you’ll always want to go back. Its simply addicting. I’m not sure if I can ever eat other fried chicken again. They also served grilled chicken wings/drummettes and some other dishes but of course I go for the Fried Chicken. Try it out, then tell me you’re not addicted!
