This is possibly the only Korean BBQ BUFFET in town. I can’t think of any other left since Northern Buffet is gone. If anyone else knows of a Korean Buffet, please let us know. In the mean time, I’ll be going back to Picnic Garden for more!

Parking is a problem since it’s metered outside during the day (except Sunday) and residential is dense, so not alot of parking at night. Be sure to circle around and look for parking. The buffet is fairly cheap at about $25/person and it feels like a family runned restaurant.

More after the jump!

After walking in, you’ll see the very simple decor, infact you’ll probably see the huge vents units and vent tubes. The counter isn’t too long but they constantly refill the food since most of it is raw and you don’t want raw meat sitting out for too long. There’s about a good selection of marinated, plain and spicy raw meats. Of course there’s the Kal-bi (Beef Short Ribs) and Bul-go-gi (Sliced Beef Sirloin), both marinated in sweet soy sauce, those are the staples and what everyone really wants. There’s also pork, pork belly, chicken, Italian style sausages, tripe, octopus squid, and a bit of fish. These are all raw of course ready for grilling.

There’s also a good variety of fresh vegetables, soups, appetizers, and a small selection of sushi rolls. Of course there’s Kimchi (several kinds) and some of the other staple sides available as well as some other entrees like Beef with Vegetables over Rice Vermicelli. I would skip most of the entrees unless you’re into that more than meats.

Can’t forget about the rice, there’s white and stir fried. Some of us can’t go without having rice with so much meat. On the other hand, don’t fill up on just Rice! The meat is juicy and tasty when its freshly grilled. The servers will help you grill the meats everytime they pass by but don’t hesitate to grill it yourself so they don’t overcook. They cut the meats before hand so it both cooks faster and easy for everyone to have some. The buffet also serves Souju and Beer ontop of soft drinks since it is very family friendly. Don’t be surprised if kids are running around. If you still have room left after all that, then by all means sip on some sweet dessert soups or have some fresh cut fruit.

This Korean BBQ Buffet is definitely recommended and possibly the only one left. I’ll be sure to post again with new pictures when I go back.

I took my friends from Singapore here. They couldn’t resist since they love Korean BBQ and what better way to feed a bunch of guys than to take them to a all you can eat BBQ Buffet. Yes they do have Korean BBQ in Singapore. For those that don’t know where or what Singapore is, its a sovereign Island City-State on the southern tip of Malaysia. They’re visiting while on spring break. They say they don’t have a Korean BBQ Buffet there so they were very excited to eat at Picnic Garden.

OMG, I f*ckin’ love this place. Meat heaven, that’s what they should call this place, not picnic garden…lame. the short rib and bigilio are awesome meats and the jab chep is pretty good. Korean BBQ Buffet 101- never eat the rice(filler) and bbq smoke will get all up on ur clothes and hair, so leave ur coats in the car, unless ur frozen ur butts off.
I don’t know if there’s any other all-you-can-eat korean bbq buffet – Does anyone else know of one in the NYC area???

I haven’t found any other Korean BBQ Buffets at all. The only previous one was Northern Buffet and that was closed over a year ago. That place was even better but alas, no more. Good suggestions, definitely leave your coats behind and be prepared to smell like the meat, it is BBQ after all.

Do you serve seafood dishes, and what kinds?

  4. finechinaguy on April 8th, 2009 10:30 pm

There’s not much seafood. There’s a selection of frozen shrimp, some raw octopus or squid and some fish which I don’t remember what type of. There’s also some deep fried sardines which are salty and are meant to go with rice. Its very geared towards meat eaters of course but you can enjoy a bit of seafood and selection of veges to go with it.

  6. finechinaguy on June 2nd, 2009 1:48 am

Its about $25/person which is a great deal!

  7. picnicgardenfan on July 23rd, 2009 3:46 pm

it’s $13/person pre-tax for lunch (we got there late so I didn’t see any kal-bi, shrimp, or jab che). dinner is probably at least $18 if not $25.

My son and I are both lovers of Korean food.. and he heard about this place and want us to have dinner there tonight and was wondering what the prices are like ???

  9. finechinaguy on August 17th, 2009 10:55 am

The price was listed in the post, its about 25/person. Did you go there and enjoy it? It is alot of meat there. Apparently the other BBQ Buffet formerly known as Northern BBQ Buffet, now called Julianna’s is still a BBQ Buffet for about the same price.

i happen to drive on northern blvd last night – right near Nam O Jung (an a la carte korean bbq rest) and saw a sign for ayce korean bbq at a nearby restaurant. for 5.99 during lunch!! we are checking the place out for lunch and ill be sure to follow up to this post…i think it was called bbq house…not entirely sure but there seemed to be a few restaurants on that street that advertised for ayce bbq. a good bet would be to park along norther blvd in that area and walk a few blocks to check it out.
