FCG’s Review of Pepsi Natural Cola
Now Pepsi has launched a new product called Pepsi Natural: All Natural Cola. Finechinaguy had also made a review, which you can read by clicking on the link, and there are just a few points that I personally disagree on.

Pepsi Natural
Notice that it says it’s made with, “Sparkling water, sugar, and kola nut extract.” And literally that is exactly what you will be drinking. Maybe because I personally do not like sparkling water, but this soda tastes like a VERY watered down version of Pepsi. Now, good thing is gives your tongue the impression that is it indeed healthier because a lot of ingredients are stripped from this version of cola which is good.

Steamed Spare Ribs w/Rice Noodle Rolls
My favorite dim sum dish of all time is this spare ribs/rice noodle rolls! This is also known as Pai Gwut Chern, in Cantonese, and it’s quite common in your local dim sum restaurant or Chinese bakery. On the weekends, my mother would buy me this from the bakery on Avenue U, Century 21 Bakery Cafe and I would feast on this like a wild animal! I personally think it’s great that the Chinese bakery serves hot foods as well as baked goods. I will do a review on the bakery itself another day, but for now let me tell you how tasty this really is!

Spare ribs w/rice noodle rolls
There is something so terribly delicious and addictive about this dish. Usually rice noodles are plain unless accompanied by soy sauce, and luckily this was drenched in sweet soy sauce! The rice noodle rolls are soft and a little chewy to eat, and the flavored enhanced spare ribs from the soy sauce are just about the two best combos ever to compliment this dish! It tastes so good when it’s nice and warm and is not advised to eat the next day because the rice noodle gets hard and loses it’s flavor!
Anyways, I am going to finish this dish, but in the meanwhile please tell me what your favorite dim sum dishes are!

Pepsi Natural (All Natural Cola) Part 2 Taste Test
Read Part 1 here!
I just had a taste of this Natural Cola from Pepsi. It is definitely different than the regular Pepsi. There is less carbon in it so don’t expect a big fizz taste. Its also less acidic which is actually nice for the taste buds. There is an after taste from the Kola Nut Extract, its hard to describe but it’s almost like a light herbal taste. Try sipping some and letting it sit on the back of your tongue.
I have to say its a change from the regular soda. I really like the taste and it is refreshing when chilled. I didn’t get the syrupy taste afterwards (no high fructose corn syrup!) which is great but instead there’s that almost herbal taste which isn’t so bad. The only thing that would hold me back from drinking it more often is the price. At about 5.99/4 bottles in a pack, its expensive. I would drink it on a casual basis when I’m in the mood for it. Recommended to try.

Here’s Part 1 & Part 2 of this series!
The final part of this Restaurant, Phew! Here’s the rest of the dishes my friends and I had.

Montreal Au Pied de Fried Cod Fish Fritters $6.00
The Fried Codfish was not spectacular, the outside was fried too much. It was very hard and crunchy but the inside was soft and tender. I would skip this for something tastier for appetizer.

Montreal Au Pied de Cochon Venison Champvallon $22.00
The Venison Champvallon is a Stew (Deer). There are several ways the Venison is prepared on the menu including Champvallon, Steak & Frites, Tartare, and Ribs. Along side the Venison is Bison (Buffalo), you may choose either prepared as listed. The stew is cooked with potatoes underneath with the stew on the top. The cut is lean and but as it was a stew, it was very tender. It reminded me very much of a beef stew in taste and texture but with a bit of gaminess to the meat like lamb.
More right after!
Canada and a few more updates
So I started transfering more pictures from Canada. I’ll be posting all this week on the food I’ve tried. I also have some updates to do for popular posts such as Picnic Garden, the Korean BBQ Buffet in Queens. (Just went there again sunday night with my friends from Singapore!)
We still have a lot more posts and catching up with our older ones as well!
