Rome La Famiglia Restaurant Spaghetti Bolognese

Rome La Famiglia Restaurant Spaghetti Bolognese
This Spaghetti Bolognese was delicious. Its so simple but fresh at the same time. The beef in there was absolutely tender and the sauce was just simply tasty. The pasta was perfect. Pasta in Rome, you just can’t mess that up. More after the jump!

Rome La Famiglia Restaurant Cheese Ravioli
Similiar to the Pasta, this Ravioli dish was filled with cheese. The cheese was just very good and fresh.

Rome La Famiglia Restaurant Fresh Mozzarella & Tomato
Again, the ingredients they use is just so fresh compared to many of the foods used in New York. I haven’t eaten at an Italian restaurant that simply makes it like this, simple yet delicious and looks perfect.

Rome La Famiglia Restaurant Pork Chop & Sausage
The meat was grilled to perfection with very little seasoning. It was salted just right and had such a nice savory flavor. The pork chop was so tender and moist and the pork sausage was just great. I squeezed a bit of lemon to go with it and just brought out more of its flavor. We ate every bit of it.

Rome La Famiglia Restaurant Pizza Prosciutto & Arugula
The pizza is just amazing. Unlike regular New York Pizza, it has a light, almost fluffy yet clearly brick oven baked pizza. It is not greasy whatsoever and no oil dripping off it. The mix of fresh arugula and baked prosciutto just made a great combination. I’ve never had pizza quite like this in New York. Even Lombardi’s is very different. You’ll just have to try it for yourself.

If you ever visit Rome, be sure to visit this fantastic restaurant! It’s off the beaten path so you won’t see a ton of tourists but its a must eat! Its not a tourist trap like many of the other restaurants we passed by and the price was reasonable (Euro was stronger than the Dollar at the time). We spent about 44 Euros which includes tips already but we threw in a few extra Euros because of the delicious food and friendly service. We’ll be going back there definitely.

I’ve been in Rome last july 2010 with my husband and my two daugthers. ;we ate at La famiglia a several times and we loved it. Im a portuguese woman, used to cook for my family and i can recognise very well the TRUE GOOD FOOD, indeed. TRust me, this small restaurant serves very well in terms of quality of the products, the amount of food and the low prices, comparing with others restaurants in the city, but you must try other recepies from the menu, not only choose the pizzas and pastas. If we will return to Rome, La famiglia will be our choise again!
Absolutely! Can’t wait to go back and really try out the menu, glad you found this gem like we did!
We agree entirely with you about the food, and we also enjoyed the friendly, slightly chaotic, atmosphere in the restaurant. I can’t understand why Tripadvisor rates it so low.
