MGM Grand Hotel @ Las Vegas
Finechinaguy and I visited Las Vegas in November of 2007. After nearly two years of hiatus, I finally can write about this post! Of course there are just so many more posts to cover, but I will cover what time will allow! So please be patience and stay tune for more posts, and many of them are from Vegas!

Craftsteak Restaurant
When you come to Las Vegas, you have to at least try one of the “brand name” restaurants! Sure there are lots of affordable buffets, but let your tastebuds indulge in deliciously crafted gourmet food! Yes it can be expensive, but you pay for what you get.
MGM Grand was the hotel that we stayed at and fortunately for us Craftsteak was conveninetly located here! The only reason I know about Craftsteak is because of Top Chef. Tom Colicchio, who is a familiar face on that show, is the owner of this restaurant. After watching many episodes of Top Chef and having great respect for Chef Colicchio, I knew I had to try this restaurant. It’s funny how this restaurant is also located in New York City, but I never really bother to go because of time or because I never think it’s in my budget. But since I’m on vacation, I might as well splurge a little!

Craftsteak Huge Wine Collection
Craftsteak is known for its massive wine collection. There are more pictures of this collection, but it pretty much looks the same, and it stretches across the walls here.

Kobe Style Wagyu 8oz Flat Iron Steak - Medium
Finechinaguy and I were in heaven when we put this delicious Wagyu beef into our mouths! The aroma will frazzle your mind as the juices and spices from this dish overwhelm your mind! The steak is perfectly seasoned with the right amount of salt and the meat is surprisingly very juicy! With thin strips of meat, I thought the top would be a little hard and it would not be as tender, but I was definitely wrong! Very tender and juicy and full of delicious flavor! I’m not just saying this because this is Tom Colicchio’s restaurant as it is legitly a great piece of meat.
Price: $64.00

Braised Beef Shortribs
Honestly I was not a fan of this dish. The good thing is that the beef shortribs was so tender that the meat will fall off from the bone when you pick it up. The bad thing is that I found this to be very salty. If it wasn’t that salty I would love it, but I honestly wouldn’t recommend anyone to try this especially if it is their first time coming.
Price: $34.00

Steamed stringbeans w/roasted almond flakes
Thank goodness I had these delicious stringbeans! They’re perfect to balance out the ultimate saltiness from the Braised Beef Shortribs. The stringbeans were very fun and crunchy and it was coated with butter which made this side dish very good! I love stringbeans and this was definitely not a disappointment!
Price: $12.00
In total, including tip, the price was $150.00. Yes it is very expensive, but it’s worth it. The way I see it is that I’m eating art. It’s a treat that I rarely do for myself and it’s a great experience. Remember, there’s a dress code here so dress casual smart! That means no sneakers!
That was my experience here, I would love to hear about yours if you have been!
