Here’s Part 1 & Part 2 of this series!

The final part of this Restaurant, Phew! Here’s the rest of the dishes my friends and I had.

Montreal Au Pied de Fried Cod Fish

Montreal Au Pied de Fried Cod Fish Fritters $6.00

The Fried Codfish was not spectacular, the outside was fried too much. It was very hard and crunchy but the inside was soft and tender. I would skip this for something tastier for appetizer.

Montreal Au Pied de Cochon Venison Champvallon

Montreal Au Pied de Cochon Venison Champvallon $22.00

The Venison Champvallon is a Stew (Deer). There are several ways the Venison is prepared on the menu including Champvallon, Steak & Frites, Tartare, and Ribs. Along side the Venison is Bison (Buffalo), you may choose either prepared as listed. The stew is cooked with potatoes underneath with the stew on the top. The cut is lean and but as it was a stew, it was very tender. It reminded me very much of a beef stew in taste and texture but with a bit of gaminess to the meat like lamb.

More right after!

Montreal Au Pied de Cochon Foie Gras Over Poutine

Montreal Au Pied de Cochon Foie Gras Over Poutine $23.00

Foie Gras (Duck/Goose Liver) is a must try, especially if you never had it before. I just loved this dish. Ever since entering Canada, I had been wanting to get stuffed with Poutine (Gravy & Cheese Curd over Fries). I have to say, this dish really hit the spot for me and I can see why Poutine is a comfort food. Of course having the light and fluffy Foie Gras over it mixed with the rich and creamy Gravy (contained duck fat) made it that much better. This dish is highly recommended and I have to say it was probably the most decadent dish. Our servers cheered my friend on to finish the last portions of this dish, she managed to do so, but barely.

Montreal Au Pied de Cochon Foie Gras Over Poutine

Montreal Au Pied de Cochon Foie Gras Over Poutine $23.00

We spent a good 2 hours at least at the restaurant and had our share of beers and cheers. We were done for the night after realizing how much we ate. Every dish was filling and we certainly had our fair share. All we wanted to do was sleep after this. While we let our stomachs take care of everything but the bill, we compared dishes and I bought their cook book as a souvenir. Our waitress helped me clean the can of the dish “Duck in a Can”, so I took that home as a souvenir as well.

Overall, it was a great experience and I would certainly go back for more. The bill came out to over $200 (Canadian) for all the food and beer we had. The only thing I regretted was not being able to have dessert after that filling meal!!!

200 for 2 people? If it’s more than 2, then I guess it’s not that bad. It looked like a great experience. Wow, deer, I never had deer before. But good description, now i get a sense of how deer taste like without tasting it!

this comment is to finechinagirl: I know that traditional asians are more scared about the neutering process and think of it as something cruel and unnatural to do. They may also think that the personality of the animal will be changed (ie less happy). It’s not true! From all my experiences with animals getting neuter/spayed, I have never heard an owner complained that their animal was acting weird after surgery. I think we, as people, just tend to ascribed alot of feelings to them that they may not feel, but you know how it is, we like to take their perspective and give them human emotions. I hope you can fight your mom’s way out of this one! your cats will thank you (in non explicit ways) for it :)

It was for four of us, the restaurant is expensive but we ordered multiple dishes ontop of everyone having a dish and beers so it came to be about 55/person or so. You probably won’t find another food experience like this place.

Wow the poutine over fois gras looks gross! I’m sure it tastes great but I can’t even begin to imagine eating something like this! And everything is fried haha. I kind of wish you did have dessert because all these dishes look like they’re going to give you a heart attack! haha
