First and foremost, I must apologize for not updating!  I will update as much as I possibly can when I find myself free, like today, and will like to share with you my stories and pictures!

This past Friday evening, I have attended the Pace Inter-Collegiate Karaoke night at Pace University.   This event is held at Pace University in the famous Schimmel Theater (where James Lipton is a professor there and he also does his show “Inside the Actor’s Studio”) and coordinated by the United Chinese Student Association.  Representatives from different colleges gathered and competed in a singing competition where they perform twice — first round the song of their song and second round a random song that is given to them.   My brother is in charge of this association so there was no way I could have missed it.  Plus I am an alumni there so it was a good opportunity to go back to my old stomping ground and relive memories there.  I was told free food at the event.  I let my brother know that Finechinagirl is not going because of free food, but because of the love for food and for the love of Pace University.  World of difference!

Here are some snap shots of the food and bubble tea.  I would haven taken more pictures, but I was busy stuffing my face with bubble tea and food because I have not eaten the whole day before!

*Thank you to my brother Kevin who provided me with this information.
The only drink I had was Clean Clothes.  First of all, it would have been nice if we had descriptions of what we drank instead of their “cool” drink names.  Second of all, they’re not even cool names.  Now if the color of clean clothes is green in real life, then we have a real problem.   A real major problem.  To Yaya’s, I don’t need cool drink names written on the cup, I need the names of things that I’m drinking.  That would be awfully nice.  My poor friend Amanda got the last drink which is called Blue Blood and she hated it!  C’mon, you write blood on anything and it’ll automatically bring a taste of bitterness on the back of your mouth unless you’re chugging down a bloody mary.  Even that bloody drink tastes like bitter sheit.
Finished within 30 mins!

Everything went fast!!  I saw guys double fisting bubble tea drinks without a shame in the world and at the same time, hungry ticket holders piling up fish balls on the skewer sticks like it’s their last meal.   Where in the world is the goddam shame?? It is no wonder why the food went fast!  My friend Amanda came half an hour late and was surprised that the food went so quickly!  And not like the food was fantastic anyways because it left out for a while so everything was dried except for the fried curry fish balls.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad eating experience.  My favorite is the Yaya’s Special Rice ball.  Even with the dried up cold rice, the seaweed and the special sauce had the perfect harmony of taste and texture.

I would definitely hit up Yaya’s next time for bubble tea and rice balls!

Until next time,

<3 FCG
