Safran French Vietnamese Cuisine – Chelsea, NYC

Safran Restaurant
Safran is located in the heart of Chelsea where the restaurants are chic, creative, and very down to earth. I have always loved this neighborhood because it is very diverse with all different types of people of all ages, more so with the younger crowd, and they all dressed so fashionably — yes, creatively fashionably. Besides lots of unique restaurants and people here, there are a lot of clubs and boutique shops that you will love to visit. Only in Chelsea will you find some of the most creative, yet down to earth people and restaurants here.
Which brings me to my visit to Safran.
My friends and co-workers alike have constantly urged me to eat at this fancy establishment. To my amazement, I probably passed by this restaurant maybe hundreds of times when I take my trips to Lohmann’s or to the eye doctor. But never once thought about eating there because I am accustomed to having Vietnamese cuisine in Chinatown. A Vietnamese fusion restaurant sounded interesting to me so one day I decided to gather some of my closest friends to meet up here for dinner.
Let’s get started with the food shall we?

The MGM Mirage Las Vegas
The Carnegie Delicatessen at the MGM Mirage is perhaps one of the few restaurants that opens all day and night. There are times where I struggle to find a restaurant, that’s not fast food, after 11:00pm. Unfortunately the Mirage is quite far from the MGM Grand where I stayed, but it is nice to know what there are restaurants open all night. If you’re around the area and you’re done watching a late night show, definitely stop by at this restaurant for an inexpensive late night snack.
Carnegie Deli hails from New York City and it is amazing that I have yet visited there. Since I was in Vegas and brand name chain restaurants seems to be all within walking distance, Finechinaguy and I took the opportunity to stop by here after visiting the Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. Also, the Deli is famous for their roast beef, which I’m not particularly a fan of, but Finechinaguy is so all the more reason to stop by!

Saha Thai (Hidden Gem on Centre St.)
Saha Thai Cuisine
227 Centre St. (Btwn Grand & Broome St)

This little hidden gem of a Thai restaurant is on Centre St. right between Chinatown and Soho. FineChinaGirl’s friend recommended a get together here and it did not disappoint at all! The owner of the restaurant will make sure your food tastes great and you enjoy it. She even cooks the food as she started it originally by herself. Dishes ranged from $7-9 and Chef Specials at $12-15, it is fairly cheap and you won’t be regret. Now onto the pictures!

Saha-Thai Crispy Vegetable Dumpling (Fried) w/Sweet Soy Sauce
Doesn’t that look delicious? It tasted delicious too. I’ve never had dumplings that looked like this good. Lots more after the jump!
Dim Sum and Lunch at Asian Flame Restaurant on Avenue U
Asian Flame Restaurant
1321 Avenue U
Corner of E. 13th St
Brooklyn, NY

Asian Flame Restaurant
Like many up and coming Chinese Restaurants popping up on Avenue U, Asian Flame by far is the better choice between the few on this Avenue. Chinese Restaurants generally start from E 18th Street and it pretty much ends right about E 12th/E.13th Street. This restaurant has been around for almost a year now, and from the looks of it from the outside, there’s a similar resemblance to the other Chinese Restaurants. The reason for this similarity is that roasted chicken, duck, and pork are hanging by the front of the restaurant available for the public to see, and as well as Chinese signs plastered outside of the window. Most Chinese patronage usually buy these meats to take it back home for dinner. The way you order them is as follows:

Las Vegas Caesar’s Palace – Hyakumi Japanese Restaurant Sushi Bar & Noodles
After walking around all day towards Caesar’s Palace, which simply amazed us, we were hungry of course. But we had to eat light! How else would we last for more buffets? We didn’t even eat breakfast just to save our appetite.

Just had to show this picture that came out great of the fountain inside the main entrance. Restaurant and more importantly, food after the jump!
